On 25 June, the Director of the Italian Cultural Institute, Marialuisa Pappalardo, joined composer, musician and producer Saro Cosentino for a discussion on the role of music in the creative process of filmmaking. Cosentino, whose artistic career spans genres ranging from blues to electronic music, has collaborated with renowned artists including Franco Battiato, Peter Gabriel, Alice and Milva. Since 2006, he has focused primarily on composing soundtracks for films and documentaries.<\/p>\n<p>Italian cinema will also take centre stage at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, taking place from 3 to 11 July for its 60<sup>th<\/sup> edition. Italy will be represented by a selection of films, including <em>Homo sive Natura<\/em> by Giovanni C. Lorusso, <em>Rain Catcher<\/em> by Michele Fiascaris, <em>The Holy Boy<\/em> (<em>La valle dei sorrisi<\/em>) by Paolo Strippoli, <em>God Forgives Everyone<\/em> (<em>Che Dio perdona a tutti<\/em>) by PIF, and <em>Classmates<\/em> (<em>Domani interrogo<\/em>) by Umberto Carteni.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"As part of the 9th edition of Fare Cinema (22\u201328 June), the Italian Cultural Institute in Prague organised two events celebrating Italian cinema.
