The measure has provided funding to over 5,200 SMEs, against a target of 4,000, with EUR 800 million allocated, of which EUR 700 million has already been disbursed, and initiatives in 46 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Particular attention was paid to the South, with a \u2018Southern Reserve\u2019 amounting to 40 per cent of the resources, which was exhausted in the face of requests totalling around EUR 500 million. The funding has reached businesses across the country and in various sectors of the economy. The main sectors benefiting are retail (12 per cent), the engineering industry (12 per cent), the metalworking industry (10 per cent), the agri-food sector (10 per cent) and the textile industry (8 per cent).
