\u201cAs we celebrate the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our two countries, we are also celebrating, through the arts, the fruitful and dynamic bilateral relationship between Italy and Slovenia\u201d. These were the words of Foreign Minister Giulio Terzi as he and his Slovenia colleague, Karl Erjavec, opened the exhibition entitled \u201cVisual Identity: design for the Slovenian state\u201d.<\/P>

Slovenia, underscored Terzi, has achieved important results over the last 20 years in its social and institutional development. And Italy \u201chas supported Ljubljana\u2019s full integration in the international community\u201d, as it has become a member of the principal UN, EU and NATO bodies. <\/P>

In recent years bilateral relations have been further strengthened, thanks not least to \u201cthe reciprocal input of their respective minorities and the driving force of the \u2018Spirit of Trieste\u2019, with the historic meeting on 13 July 2010 between Presidents Napolitano, Turk and Josipovic”, he added. Minister Terzi also noted \u201cthe rich and growing sphere of economic relations\u201d.<\/P>

The Slovenian minister recalled the close collaboration between Rome and Ljubljana in all the international organisations, for example NATO and the EU. The two countries are also \u201cunited by their minorities\u201d and \u201cboth are striving to ensure that their rights are respected\u201d. Erjavec hopes to see even stronger cooperation in the political, economic and cultural spheres. <\/P>

The exhibition will be open to the public from Monday to Friday morning at the following times: 09.30, 11.00 and 12.30. The exhibition is located in the Sala dei Mosaici, first floor of the Foreign Ministry, Piazzale della Farnesina 1, Rome. <\/P>
