The Italian Embassy in Tirana marked the third \u201cItalian Sport Around the World Day\u201d in Albania with the launch of a new university education programme. The initiative was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the Carlo Bo University of Urbino, represented by Prof. Piero Sestili, and the Sports University in Tirana, represented by Rector Agron Kasa.<\/p>\n
The Italian Ambassador to Tirana, Marco Alberti, participated in the opening ceremony of a joint Double Degree programme at Master\u2019s level in Sports Science. Besides providing an innovative educational programme, the Double Degree programme takes on greater significance in the context of a year marked by major international sporting events held in Italy, including the Milan-Cortina \u201826 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Mediterranean Games in Taranto.<\/p>\n
In his speech, Ambassador Alberti emphasised the importance of sport as a set of values, a tool for promoting peace and development, but also as an economic and cultural driver. This sector, in fact, generates over 32 billion euros in added value for Italy and provides more than 400,000 jobs, promoting key segments of \u2018Made in Italy\u2019 and helping to raise our country\u2019s profile on the world scene, not least through major international events. The Ambassador said: \u201cInter-university cooperation is a key element of the relationship between Italy and Albania. This agreement adds to the over 100 agreements already in place between our countries, enriching this sector.
