The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, has concluded a two-day visit to Armenia.<\/p>\n
The Deputy Minister held bilateral political consultations with his counterpart, Vahan Kostanyan, and met with the Secretary of the Security Council, Alen Simonyan. The talks highlighted the increasingly strong ties between Italy and Armenia, with trade volumes rising sharply, making Rome one of Yerevan\u2019s main trading partners. In addition, the main regional issues were discussed, including the normalisation process with Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n
During the visit, the two Deputy Ministers announced the opening of the new office of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Yerevan. The new office, which will be operational from early October, will cover Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and will serve as a new hub for Italian cooperation in the region, helping to strengthen dialogue and cooperation initiatives with partner countries.<\/p>\n
The mission was also attended by representatives from the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO), international partner organisations of Italian Cooperation, with whom possible initiatives in Armenia in the fields of cultural heritage and institutional strengthening are currently being explored.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Edmondo Cirielli, has concluded a two-day visit to Armenia.
