The exhibition \u201cWind of the great ocean across the steppe: Raphael and Bernini\u201d was inaugurated today at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum in Ulaanbaatar. Present at the event were the Director of Galleria Borghese, Francesca Cappelletti, the Ambassador of Italy to Mongolia, Giovanna Piccarreta, the State Secretary for Culture of Mongolia, the Cultural Counsellor to President Kh\u00fcrels\u00fckh and the Director of the Chinggis Khaan Museum.<\/p>\n
The opening was attended by leading figures from the art world, dignitaries and representatives of the diplomatic community. It is an event that will allow the Mongolian public to discover the richness of Italian culture and to get to know a unique museum such as Galleria Borghese. From the first of October, in fact, the public of the exhibition will be able to admire two masterpieces from Galleria Borghese in Rome \u2013 Bernini\u2019s \u201cNeptune in Bronze\u201d and Raphael\u2019s \u201cPortrait of a Man\u201d \u2013 accompanied by a reproduction of the diagnostics of the two works, as well as panels illustrating the history of Renaissance and Baroque art.<\/p>\n
The exhibition is part of a significant strengthening of diplomatic relations between Italy and Mongolia, with the recent visit to Italy by President Kh\u00fcrels\u00fckh, on which occasion the two countries decided to raise their friendship to the level of strategic partnership.
