The Israeli women were detained today by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) along with other international activists.<\/p>\n<p>As soon as they were informed of the incident, the Embassy of Italy in Tel Aviv and the Consulate-General of Italy in Jerusalem contacted the Israeli authorities, requesting urgent clarification on the circumstances of the detention and on the situation of the Italian nationals. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has now received confirmation that the Italian women are being held at a police station.
