Terra, Trasformazione, Spirito<\/em>\u201c (Guido Totoli and St Francis. Earth, Transformation, Spirit), dedicated to the work of the Italian-Brazilian artist Guido Totoli, curated by Claudia Totoli based on an exhibition concept by Enzo Sobocinski.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition brings together sculptures, ceramics, paintings and drawings inspired by the figure of St Francis of Assisi. From childhood, Totoli found in the saint a spiritual and artistic reference point, developing over the course of his career a body of works characterised by simplicity of forms, an emphasis on materials, and the relationship between human beings, nature and the transcendent.<\/p>\n<p>Originally from Cilento, Italy, Guido Totoli has developed an artistic career in Brazil characterised by constant exploration of materials and forms of expression, ranging from painting and sculpture to ceramics and drawing. In 2025, he was awarded the honour of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy by the Italian Government, a distinction conferred upon individuals who contribute to strengthening relations of friendship and cooperation between Italy and other countries.<\/p>\n<p>On 19 September, the exhibition was also visited by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Massimo Dell\u2019Utri, as part of his visit to the Italian communities in Brazil. Those present included the Italian Ambassador to Brazil, Alessandro Cortese; the Italian Consul in S\u00e3o Paulo, Mauro Campanella, and the Deputy Consul, Marianna Haddad; the IICSP Director, Lillo Guarneri; the Deputy Director of the DGIT and Central Director for Services to Italians Abroad, Massimo Branciforte; and the Head of the Undersecretary\u2019s Secretariat, Marco Petacco.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"To mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi, the Italian Cultural Institute in S\u00e3o Paulo is hosting the exhibition Guido Totoli e San Francesco.
