Concert organised by the Italian Embassy and Cultural Institute. A concert featuring the most famous arias by Italian composers, from Puccini to Bellini and Donizzetti, along with Japanese music, topped by a homage paid to Maestro Ennio Morricone through the sound track of the film by Tornatore\u00a0‘Cinema Paradiso’. This is the programme offered by the Italian Cultural Institute in Copenhagen at the Italian-Japanese autumn concert organised by the Italian Embassy in partnership with the Japanese Embassy in Denmark and with the support of the Itinera Spa-Gruppo, the Italian company which won the tender to build the Kingdom\u2019s third-longest bridge.<\/p>\n
The first part of the concert featured a performance by three Japanese artists: Yuko Yasui \u2013 Violin, Ai Tashiro \u2013 Flute and Minako Ito Christiansen \u2013 Piano,\u00a0who played a medley of Japanese songs dedicated to Italy, along with music by Ennio Morricone\u00a0and the aria \u201cLibiamo\u201d from Verdi\u2019s Traviata.<\/p>\n
In the second part,\u00a0Italian artists Rachele Stanisci-Soprano and Raffaele Abate\u2013Tenore, accompanied by Francesco Massimi at the piano,\u00a0performed pieces by Gaetano Donizetti, Vincenzo Bellini and Giacomo Puccini, and wound up with Madama Butterfly, an opera that seams together the Italian and Japanese cultures and that was acclaimed by the public with a standing ovation. \u200b\u00a0<\/p>\n
When introducing the concert, Italian Ambassador to Denmark, Luigi Ferrari, together with the Ambassador of Japan,\u00a0Toshiro Suzuki,\u00a0recalled the importance of the political, economic and cultural cooperation between the two Countries, both members of the G7 and, in particular, of music capable to communicate beyond barriers and borders.
