On\u00a0Thursday, 4\u00a0March\u00a02021, at\u00a015.00<\/strong>, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will\u00a0hold a press conference, in virtual format, to\u00a0launch\u00a0its new portal called\u202fitaliana<\/em>\u00a0celebrating Italian language, culture and creativity worldwide\u202f(italiana.esteri.it<\/a>).\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The live-streamed press conference will be opened by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,\u202fLuigi Di Maio<\/strong>.\u202f\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

italiana\u00a0<\/em>is a project developed by the Foreign Ministry to\u202fpromote\u00a0Italian language, culture and creativity worldwide<\/strong>,\u00a0with the Ministry engaged in the twofold role of\u202fpromoter<\/strong>\u202fand\u202fproducer<\/strong>, as well as direct supporter, of cultural activities and initiatives via its\u00a0online\u00a0platform,\u00a0the audio-visual channel\u00a0Vimeo,\u00a0a\u00a0Newsletter\u00a0and\u00a0its\u00a0social\u00a0media<\/strong>.\u00a0A brand-new tool for showcasing a creative, dynamic and\u00a0varied Country.\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Minister\u2019s opening address will be followed by\u00a0a conversation between the Central Director for the promotion of Italian culture and language,\u202fCecilia\u00a0Piccioni<\/strong>,\u00a0and the journalist and author\u202fLoredana\u00a0Lipperini<\/strong>,\u00a0about the\u202fitaliana\u00a0<\/em>project and its exclusive contents produced by the Foreign Ministry: 39 videos of\u00a0drama, music, dance and circus\u00a0projects\u00a0made in connection with the\u00a0programme called\u202fVivere\u00a0all\u2019Italiana\u00a0sul\u00a0palcoscenico\u00a0e in\u00a0musica<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0developed in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, calling for theatrical and musical\u00a0(classical and\u00a0Jazz)\u00a0representations of the Italian lifestyle;\u202f10 clips of\u00a0Female Portraits<\/strong>,\u00a0created with the\u00a0Premio\u00a0Solinas\u00a0Award,\u00a0about how women inspire Italian society;\u00a0the\u00a0podcasts of the\u202fMusic and the Cities\u00a0<\/strong>project, with\u00a0Raffaele\u00a0Costantini\u00a0and\u00a0Studio 33,\u00a0an account in music of their travels through the country;\u202fthe\u00a0documentaries of\u00a0JazzLife,\u00a0with a capital\u00a0J<\/strong>,\u00a0with\u00a0Umbria Jazz, celebrating the great Italian Jazz\u00a0tradition and the beauty of\u00a0Umbria.\u00a0As well as\u00a0the\u00a0many anniversaries\u00a0marked in recent years, with the\u00a0video\u202fTestimonials of\u00a0Testimonials\u00a0<\/strong>produced by\u00a0Studio Azzurro\u00a0for the 2021 Remembrance Day;\u00a0and future projects\u00a0too, with the presentation\u00a0by\u00a0italiana\u00a0<\/em>of a packed calendar of book releases\u00a0via a\u00a0magazine-newsletter,\u00a0from March,\u00a0with events related to the\u202f700th\u00a0anniversary of the death of\u00a0Dante Alighieri<\/strong>,\u202fand lots more besides…\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The key topic of the conference will be the new\u00a0challenges faced by Italian culture, language and creativity abroad and the importance of networking,\u00a0with video\u00a0contributions by\u202fPaolo\u00a0Fresu<\/strong>\u202f(musician),\u202fMichela\u00a0Murgia<\/strong>\u202f(author),\u202fMarianna Vitale<\/strong>\u202f(chef),\u00a0besides representatives of the network of Italian Institutes of Culture\u00a0and many\u00a0Italian educational centres, archaeological missions and scholarship projects supported by the Foreign Ministry.\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The new portal, in fact,\u00a0has been designed to promote and develop the\u00a0Foreign Ministry\u2019s cultural network<\/strong>,\u202fa\u00a0virtual\u00a0forum where\u00a0visitors can find\u00a0up-to-date information about the activities of the\u202f82 Italian\u00a0Institutes of Culture abroad,\u00a0Italian\u00a0language schools,\u00a0lectureships,\u00a0archaeological missions<\/strong>\u202fand\u00a0Unesco-related activities\u00a0and the World Heritage sites in Italy.\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

One of the opening features of the event will be the screening of the\u00a0video\u00a0\u201cL’Italia\u00a0non \u00e8\u00a0mai\u00a0stata\u00a0cos\u00ec\u00a0vicina\u201d<\/em> (Italy has never been so close)\u00a0produced by the Foreign Ministry for the launch of\u202fitaliana<\/em>\u202f and made by\u00a0Think Cattleya.\u202f\u00a0\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
