On Tuesday, 20 November and Wednesday, 21 November, at 9:30 a.m.,<\/strong>\u00a0the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation will host the\u00a0annual meeting of the Assembly of Parties to IDLO (International Development Law Organization),\u00a0<\/strong>followed by the\u00a0IDLO Partnership Forum<\/strong>, on the theme\u00a0\u201cThe Rule of Law in Turbulent Times\u201d.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On 20 November, the Assembly of Parties will open with remarks by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Enzo Moavero Milanesi,\u00a0<\/strong>the President of the Assembly of Parties to IDLO,\u00a0Thomas M. Duffy,<\/strong>\u00a0Charg\u00e9 d’Affaires in the United States Mission to the UN Agencies in Rome, and the Director General of IDLO,\u00a0Irene Khan.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Assembly\u2019s agenda will continue with the illustration of the 2019 Plan and Budget and the election of IDLO\u2019s governing bodies.<\/p>\n

That same afternoon, the\u00a0Partnership Forum\u00a0<\/strong>will start at 3 p.m. with remarks by Ambassador\u00a0Inga King,\u00a0<\/strong>Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations, President of the ECOSOC and of the High-Level Political Forum 2019.\u00a0\u00a0The Forum\u2019s agenda will continue with contributions from\u00a0Kate Gilmore<\/strong>, Deputy High Commissioner for Human Rights of the United Nations, and\u00a0Jean Marie Gu\u00e9henno<\/strong>, former President and CEO of the International Crisis Group and UN Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations.<\/p>\n

The Forum will be followed by a session dedicated to\u00a0\u201cBuilding Trust and Confidence in Institutions\u201d.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

On\u00a021 November,<\/strong>\u00a0the second day of the Forum will open with a session dedicated to\u00a0Forging Partnerships to Advance Sustainable Development through Rule of Law,<\/strong>\u00a0featuring a keynote speech by\u00a0Enrico Giovannini,<\/strong>\u00a0the spokesperson for the Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development.<\/p>\n

The following session will be dedicated to\u00a0Rule of Law in a Changing Global Economy<\/strong>\u00a0and, starting at 11:30 a.m., the last segment will be dedicated to\u00a0Closing the Justice Gap for Women and Girls.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event will close with remarks by\u00a0Gerald Abila<\/strong>\u00a0from BareFootLaw, Uganda.<\/p>\n
