On Friday, 21 September 2018, at 10:00 a.m., the Farnesina will host the high-level Seminar \u201cGlobal anticorruption strategies and corporate compliance: a dialogue between the United States and Italy\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Seminar, promoted by the Anticorruption Coordination Office at the Foreign Ministry\u2019s Directorate General for Globalisation and Global Issues, is designed to be an exchange of practical experiences on the respective models and is particularly targeted on the representatives of public and private Italian companies whose international operations must also comply with Common Law systems: people in charge of compliance, general counsel, supervisory bodies, in addition to members of the judiciary and of the legal profession and university professors.<\/p>\n
The greetings by the Foreign Ministry\u2019s Director-General for Globalisation and Global Issues, Massimo Gaiani, and the opening remarks by the Foreign Ministry\u2019s Coordinator of International Anticorruption Activities, Alfredo Durante Mangoni, will be followed by a keynote speech by Jennifer H. Arlen, Professor at New York University, who will illustrate the types of risks involved and the prevention strategies against corporate crime\u00a0in the North American market, and will outline recent enforcement trends within the regulatory framework and the role of federal agencies.<\/p>\n
The keynote speech will be followed by a qualified panel of Italian speakers including the distinguished participation of the Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Roberto Garofoli, and the Director-General of Confindustria, Marcella Panucci, who will debate the compliance requirements for companies operating on global markets.<\/p>\n
