On Wednesday 13 December<\/strong>, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., the \u201cObjectives and proposals to grow together\u201d Eighth Italy-Latin America and Caribbean Conference<\/strong> will be held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Italy-Latin America Institute (IILA).<\/p>\n

\u00a0Minister Alfano<\/strong> said: \u201cFourteen years after the first event, the Italy-Latin America Conferences still represent the most important occasions for Italy and South American countries to meet and hold discussions. There is a deep spirit of friendship and brotherhood between us based on special cultural, political and economic bonds. The conferences, held every two years since then, have become increasingly dynamic. They have given us the opportunity to deepen the dialogue between our countries, giving rise to well-organised co-operation so that we can face the challenges of a globalised world together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0A number of South American Ministers will attend the Conference, with embassy representatives, experts, and Italian institutional representatives.<\/p>\n

\u00a0The entire Conference will be open to the press.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The opening session<\/strong> (International Conference Room 9:00-11:10 a.m.) will be attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano<\/strong>, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Colombia and Interim President of the Italy-Latin America Institute (IILA), Maria Angela Holgu\u00edn<\/strong>, the Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda,<\/strong> the Vice President of Confindustria, Licia Mattioli<\/strong>,\u00a0the Foreign Ministers of the South American countries who are members of IILA (Bolivia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador and Venezuela),\u00a0the Secretary-General of the Ibero American Conference (SEGIB),\u00a0Rebeca Grynspan<\/strong>and the Secretary-General of IILA, Donato Di Santo<\/strong>.\u00a0The Deputy Minister of the Farnesina, Mario Giro, <\/strong>will chair.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 by filling out the interactive form and selecting the event at http:\/\/mae.accreditationsystem.info\/ITA\/Indice.asp<\/a>, attaching, unless already provided, the information requested in digital format (letter from the media organisation and, for representatives of foreign media, also a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation\u2019s country).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 by sending an email to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation\u2019s Institutional Press and Communication Service at: accreditamentostampa@esteri.it<\/a>,\u00a0(tel. 06\/3691.3432-8573-8210), attaching the letter of their media organisation (or press card for journalists) and, for members of the foreign press, a Note Verbale released by the Rome Embassy of the media organisation\u2019s country.<\/p>\n
