Ahead of the presidential elections to be held in Afghanistan on 5 April 2014, this Press Service would like to inform Italian journalists not currently accredited in that country and intending to be there, that they need to obtain a \u201cpress\u201d visa, which must be requested at the Afghan diplomatic mission in their country of residence. Alternatively, it is possible to request a simple tourist visa that can later be converted with the assistance of the Italian embassy in Kabul.<\/P>

The Press Service advises interested journalists to enrol on the Foreign Ministry Crisis Unit website (www.dovesiamonelmondo.it<\/A>) and to contact the embassy in advance of leaving in order to have an up-to-date picture of the country\u2019s security situation and related rules of behaviour throughout their stay.<\/P>
