On Tuesday 16 July 2013, at 12.00<\/STRONG><\/STRONG>, an event presenting the \u201cFarnesina and Touring Club: a worldwide presence for Italy\u201d initiative will be taking place at the Foreign Ministry in Rome. The initiative has a twofold aim. One is to restore and renew the links between Italy and Italians abroad, from previous and more recent waves of emigration. And the other, to promote tourism by facilitating the journeys of foreign tourists choosing our country as their destination. <\/P>

To this end, the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry, Michele Valensise, and the President of Touring Club Italiano, Franco Iseppi, will sign a protocol of understanding to set up a special Touring Club membership category. The \u201cCarta Turistica Socio Estero\u201d (Foreign Members\u2019 Tourism Card) is intended for Italians living abroad and foreign tourists planning to visit Italy. Next Tuesday\u2019s event will illustrate the content of and arrangements for publicising the initiative. <\/P>
