The Farnesina hosted the presentation of the MACFRUT 2020 Expo, an event opened to the Diplomatic Corps and to the representatives of the world of research and business. Next year\u2019s event, which is scheduled to be held in Rimini from 5 to 7 May 2020, will be characterised by a relevant new feature as it will include the SPICES & HERBS GLOBAL EXPO, the first event dedicated to spices and medicinal and aromatic herbs.<\/p>\n
This year MACFRUT, the major Italian expo dedicated to the fruit and vegetable production chain, was focused on Sub-Saharan Africa and recorded more than 43,000 visitors, a fourth of whom international, and 1000 exhibitors. Next year\u2019s edition will be organised in partnership with the Region of Sardinia and will have an international focus: \u201cFruit and Spices Along the Road of Marco Polo\u201d. \u00a0<\/p>\n
The presentation opened with a welcome by a representative of the Foreign Ministry, followed by contributions by the President of Cesena Fiera, Renzo Piraccini, and the Councillor for Agriculture of the Region of Sardinia, Gabriella Murgia.<\/p>\n
Contributions were also made by the Director of the Brand Italy Coordination and Promotion Office of the Italian Trade Agency ICE, Ines Aronadio, the Vice President of Coldiretti, Nicola Bertinelli, and the Director of ISMEA, Raffaele Borriello. The event closed with an interactive session between guests and organisers. \u00a0<\/p>\n
