{"id":2768,"date":"2019-06-26T18:57:38","date_gmt":"2019-06-26T16:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2019\/06\/incontro-del-sottosegretario-merlo-con-la-vice-ministra-delle-relazioni-esterne-della-costarica-2\/"},"modified":"2019-06-26T18:57:38","modified_gmt":"2019-06-26T16:57:38","slug":"incontro-del-sottosegretario-merlo-con-la-vice-ministra-delle-relazioni-esterne-della-costarica","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2019\/06\/incontro-del-sottosegretario-merlo-con-la-vice-ministra-delle-relazioni-esterne-della-costarica\/","title":{"rendered":"Meeting of Under-Secretary Merlo with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costarica"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/mae\/resource\/img\/2019\/06\/ss_merlo_-_costarica.jpeg\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" alt=\"ss merlo - costarica\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Undersecretary for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ricardo Merlo, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Lorena Aguilar Revelo, met at the Farnesina to sign a &#8220;Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of a Bilateral Consultation Mechanism&#8221; between the two Countries on issues of common interest, &#8220;in particular on political, economic, cultural, consular, social and educational issues.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>&#8220;The signing of the Memorandum confirms the excellent relations with Costa Rica, as well as the intention to further strengthen them&#8221; &#8211; said Merlo, underlining &#8220;the important contribution afforded by Italian companies and technologies\u00a0to the development of the Country&#8221; and &#8220;the interest of our companies in participating in international tenders called by the Costa Rican Government&#8221;.<\/div>\n<div>\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>The meeting was also an opportunity to exchange views on the Venezuelan crisis and on the Nicaraguan crisis.
