Within a series of encounters promoted by the foreign ministry that allows groups of Italian businesspersons to meet with foreign ambassadors within the context of the \u201ceconomic diplomacy\u201d initiative, the Farnesina hosted an event today with the participation of Fincantieri CEO Giuseppe Bono and the foreign mission heads accredited in Rome.<\/p>\n
The meeting, opened by Farnesina Secretary General Michele Valensise, centred on the international outreach of Fincantieri, one of the world\u2019s largest civilian and military shipbuilding, offshore infrastructure and services firms. \u201cWith the presentation of Fincantieri to the diplomatic corps\u201d, Valensise underscored, \u201cthe Farnesina pursues its efforts in support of the internationalisation of Italian businesses and of our country\u2019s productive system\u201d. \u201cThe formula of the encounters we have hosted over recent months at the Farnesina with various groups of Italian businesspersons, has been a resounding success with both firms and foreign representatives\u201d.<\/p>\n
Bono outlined the strategies of the Trieste-based group, which has approximately 20,900 employees, of which 7,700 in Italy, 21 establishments on 4 continents, which in addition to Italy, include shipyards in Norway, Romania, Croatia, the United States, Brazil, India, United Arab Emirates and Vietnam.
