He was accompanied by Mar\u00eda Lu\u00edsa Navarro, Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs and Cooperation, and the Italian Ambassador to Panama, Marcello Apicella.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Undersecretary Merlo then visited the expanded Panama Canal, referring to it as \u201ca source of Italian pride\u201d. It was \u201cworked on by big Italian companies like Salini Impregilo, a brand that is highly esteemed throughout the world, and Cimolai, a Pordenone-based company\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u201cWe are working hard as a government, in close cooperation\u00a0with the\u00a0Italian Embassy in Panama, to strengthen commercial and economic ties between the two countries.
