The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Moavero Milanesi finds\u00a0to be very positive\u00a0the news\u00a0freshly arrived from Tripoli\u00a0of the finalization of a ceasefire agreement in the Libyan capital. The agreement is the result of a meeting held under the auspices of the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Ghassan Salame’, with whom the Minister has talked several times also to express his appreciation for the efforts made and for the determination showed.<\/p>\n
\u200bIt is an important and significant agreement which also provides for other measures aimed at re-establishing better security conditions in the capital city, including the strategic reopening of Tripoli\u2019s\u00a0Mitiga international\u00a0airport.<\/p>\n
It is the Minister\u2019s and the\u00a0Foreign\u00a0Ministry\u2019s firm hope and the expression of its\u00a0diplomatic\u00a0commitment to all the parties concerned that this first announcement be\u00a0immediately\u00a0followed by an effective and final cessation of hostilities and the actual implementation of today\u2019s agreement, especially in order to put an end to the suffering of the civilian population.
