Alfano in Palermo for the 52nd National Congress of Civil Law Notaries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cBetween the activities of a diplomat and those of a notary public there are many more complementarities than one could imagine: a diplomat negotiates peace and signs the agreements to implement it while the notary public prolongs it over time,\u201d said the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Angelino Alfano, in the introduction to his address at the 52<sup>nd<\/sup> National Congress of Civil Law Notaries at Palermo\u2019s Hotel San Paolo Palace on Saturday, 14 October.<\/p>\n<p>He went on: \u201cThis year, at the Foreign Ministry, I placed our emphasis on the attraction of investments: our Embassies and Consulates processed almost 180,000 applications for business visas, improving the service also through the \u2018Visa for Italy\u2019 Portal. At the same time, we have also opened a Foreign Investment Office: our goal is to make an ever-more tangible contribution to the national economy, for the benefit of all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNotarial functions represent an important component of the service provided by our consular offices. Last year alone, the Foreign Ministry\u2019s diplomatic and consular network released approximately 22,000 notarial deeds: an activity that becomes all the more relevant as it entails defending national economic and commercial interests through the law.
