\u201cThe ECMWF Council approved the candidacy of the Italian city: this is a significant recognition of the scientific vocation not only of Bologna\u2019s Tecnopolo Technology District but also of our Country in general,\u201d Minister Alfano continued. \u201cNow Italy is at the centre of the ambitious European project to develop a data processing capacity in the meteorological sector, which is strategic from the point of view of the economy, security and scientific and technological research.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
In recalling the contribution of the Foreign Ministry\u2019s diplomatic network in highlighting the strengths of the Italian candidacy to their institutional interlocutors, the Foreign Minister especially underscored the teamwork in which the relevant national Institutions engaged. He said: \u201cEvery player was decisive: the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, of the Environment, of Education, of Defence and of Economy, the Region of Emilia-Romagna and the Municipality of Bologna, and all the other institutions which, each one for its own scope of competence, have contributed to this excellent result. It is a success that must be a source of pride for everybody, well done Italy.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
