Promoting Italian excellence and innovation abroad in schools, businesses, and in scientific research was the central theme of the visit paid to Reggio Emilia today by Vincenzo de Luca, Director-General for the Promotion of the Italian Economic System. The mayor, Luca Vecchi, and the directors of the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre in particular highlighted the educational approach known as “Reggio Children”, developed by the local community, in the aftermath of the war, with the support of Loris Malaguzzi. This widely used teaching method\u00a0abroad, adopted in nursery and primary schools both foreign and Italian, is being included in the newly established Italian school in Beijing. From the very early stages of learning, this method encourages experimentation, play, and interaction with others and the surrounding environment. The meetings identified the potential synergies, particularly in view of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ activities in this field. Working with the Ministry of University and Research,\u00a0the objective is to\u00a0promote this learning method in the Italian departments of foreign schools, as\u00a0occurred recently with the signing of specific Memorandums of Understanding with foreign countries.<\/p>\n
