This morning, Deputy Minister Manlio Di Stefano chaired the 3rd Economic and Technical Commission and the Italy-Mongolia Political Consultations on the Italian side. On the Mongolian side, the Minister of Agriculture and Light Industry Mendsaikhan and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Munkhjin attended by video conference.<\/p>\n
\u201cInevitably, the pandemic that has struck the world has also impacted trade between Italy and Mongolia, but the great complementarity between our production systems allows us to look to the future of bilateral relations with optimism,\u201d the Deputy Minister said at the opening. \u201cWe have important ongoing collaborations with Mongolia in sectors such as agro-industry, energy, infrastructure, textiles, tanning, inter-university cooperation, as well as in the field of archaeology and research\u201d.<\/p>\n
At the end of the Economic and Technical Commission meeting, Deputy Minister Di Stefano signed with his Mongolian counterpart a Joint Communiqu\u00e9 on cooperation, which reports on the concrete results achieved so far and provides a roadmap for the development of relations between the two countries in the near future.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe see a wide margin for development in view of the potential of this vast country, its spaces and resources. We believe that, thanks also to bilateral cooperation, we can contribute to the responsible use of resources and to the transition towards sustainable energy sources, while also making an important contribution to environmental protection,\u201d the Deputy Minister concluded.
