Carla held a series of master classes called \u201crolled pastry of the past\u201d, aimed especially at local cooks and restaurant owners, but also others from outside Manila.<\/p>\n<p>A reception was held for 350 people at the residence of Ambassador Giorgio Guglielmino, with a menu based on the simplicity and quality of the Mediterranean diet and its traditional cuisine.\u00a0 The promotion was for \u201cpizza, pasta and piadinas\u201d accompanied by a presentation of the Italian beer, Menabrea. The beer was recently launched in the Philippines by \u201cBacchus\u201d, an import company specialising in Italian products.<\/p>\n<p>Filipono chef, Margarita Fores, was awarded the\u00a0<i>Cavaliere dell&#8217;Ordine della Stella d&#8217;Italia<\/i>\u00a0(Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy) at the reception in honour of her promotion of typically Italian cuisine and products.\u00a0\u00a0Margarita Fores was named Asia\u2019s best female chef in 2016.
