As part of the Italian Festival in Thailand 2017, the Italian Embassy is honoured to present a concert by M\u00b0 Stefano Bollani at 7 p.m. on Friday, 10 November, and at 4 p.m. on Saturday, 11 November, 2017 at the Prince Mahidol Hall, a very modern hall with more than 2,000 seats.<\/p>\n
Stefano Bollani is considered to be one of the most important jazz pianists in the world and, through different partnerships, has succeed to express his art in different forms and contexts, spanning across classical music, jazz and pop music. Proof of his versatility is also the success of his books and of the radio and television programmes that he has presented on major Italian channels. \u00a0<\/p>\n
He has performed with some of the world\u2019s most prestigious classical orchestras (Gewandhaus Leipzig,\u00a0La Scala, Santa Cecilia, ON Paris) and, at the same time, also with some of the great masters of jazz, including Chick Corea,\u00a0Caetano Veloso, Hector Zazou, and Richard Galliano. He was awarded the insignia of Commander of the Italian Republic in 2016, an honorary degree from the Berklee School of Music in 2010 and the title of best European jazz musician in 2007 within the European Jazz Prize in Vienna. He has published 44 CDs, 30 of which were recorded in\u00a0a studio. Of these, 13 were recorded with the extraordinary trumpet player Enrico Rava, with whom Bollani has shared many projects.<\/p>\n
In Bangkok, Stefano Bollani will offer the world premiere of his composition \u201cConcerto Azzurro\u201d, in addition to Gershwin\u2019s \u201cRhapsody in Blue\u201d and \u201cAn American in Paris\u201d, in a double performance.<\/p>\n
