The 17th Week of the Italian Language in the World opened in Ramallah with a concert entitled ‘The Italian touch’. The concert, which was promoted by the Italian Consulate General in Jerusalem in association with the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music, was a great success and was attended, among others, by representatives of the Palestinian political world, including the Palestinian Ministry of Education, in addition to business people and representatives from the world of culture, including Souad Amiri, a well-known writer among Italian readers.<\/p>\n
Drawing upon the theme of the Week, \u201cItalian at the Cinema, Italian in the Cinema\u201d, soprano Dima Bawab and pianist Muraad Layousse performed songs from Italian soundtracks or written by Italian composers. \u00a0Within the framework of the \u2018Italian Way of Life\u2019 integrated promotion programme launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the MIUR, the MIBACT and the MiSE, the concert also offered the opportunity to highlight Italy\u2019s points of excellence: spanning from the export figures in the manufacturing sector to the figures relative to pharmaceutical research and Italy\u2019s commitment to protect cultural heritage, and the candidacy of Neapolitan pizza \u2013 which was greatly appreciated in the tasting event that followed \u2013 for inclusion in UNESCO\u2019s list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The 17th Week of the Italian Language in the World opened in Ramallah with a concert entitled ‘The Italian touch’.
