The disappearance of Ettore Majorana, considered to be the greatest\u00a0twentieth century\u00a0Italian physicist, which occurred in March 1938 on a ferry trip between Palermo and Naples, is one of the biggest Italian mysteries of the last hundred years. This genius from Sicily will be brought back to life in the docufilm entitled \u201cUnfindable\u201d (“Nessuno mi trover\u00e0”) by Egidio Eronico, starring Francesco Guerra, Nadia Robotti and Ettore Majorana jr. The film\u00a0is distributed by\u00a0Istituto Luce-Cinecitt\u00e0\u00a0<\/i>and\u00a0was released in Italian cinemas in April 2016.<\/i>\u00a0The screening is scheduled for Friday, 8 September, at 6:30 p.m., at the Bioscope Cinema in Maboneng, 286 Fox St, Johannesburg. The event is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute in Pretoria, in association with the science attach\u00e9 of the Italian Embassy in Pretoria. Admission is free but seats must be reserved at iicpretoria@esteri.it.<\/a><\/p>\n

The screening will be followed by a debate chaired by the Embassy\u2019s science attach\u00e9, Pierguido Sarti. Even though many theories have been advanced, why this theoretical physicist – only 31 at the time – disappeared without\u00a0leaving\u00a0a trace or explanation,\u00a0remains a mystery.
