In this fascinating city of contrasts,\u00a0a magnet for photographers, working-class neighbourhoods merge with\u00a0precious architecture dating back to the time of the Norman Rule over Sicily (1130-1194). One exhibition is devoted to the\u00a0nine monumental sites of the Arab-Norman Palermo and the cathedrals of Cefal\u00f9 and Monreale (on Sicily&#8217;s northern coast) &#8211;\u00a0all Unesco World Heritage Sites since 2005, which will\u00a0feature\u00a0in\u00a0Ferla&#8217;s photographs. Working-class Palermo, on the other hand, will be showcased in\u00a0the\u00a0exhibition of works by Cincirrone, a local photographer,\u00a0who shot the pictures between 2008 and 2013 in Mondello &#8211;\u00a0 a village made up of holiday homes,\u00a0only 7 kilometres from Palermo&#8217;s city centre. In Mondello each\u00a0house has a sort of beach-hut, furnished as a mini-flat.
