The contract is part of an auction\u00a0the Italian group\u00a0 won in 2014 to develop a\u00a0\u00a0wind farm project\u00a0off the coast of\u00a0\u00a0Baltimore. Once the planning and data acquisition phases were completed in \u00a0December 2016, US Wind officially sent out a proposal for a 20-year supply contract to the Maryland competent authorities , that today approved the proposal.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 3.3 billion dollar\u00a0contract\u00a0will provide a total of 250 MW power supply \u00a0starting in 2020, \u00a0meeting \u00a040 percent of the State&#8217;s renewable energy demand. It will cater to a population of about 500,000 households. To implement the project&#8217;s first phase (supply is expected to increase up to 750 MW), the company estimated that over 5,000 jobs will be created, with \u00a0a 1.3 billion dollar investment.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cameroon: an agri-food project to be implemented with Italian partners<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The building of an agri-food plant \u00a0is now under way\u00a0in Dzeng, approximately 80 kilometres from the capital city of Yaounde. The plant will include\u00a0animal husbandry \u00a0activities and \u00a0the processing of poultry meat. \u00a0The project is based on a partnership between a \u00a0Camerounian investor and Italian companies. The investment wil finance the installation of a modern slaughter line with an automated suspended chain, tanks, machinery and technologies for the total processing of poultry meat. Also automated packaging systems and processing of by-products, along with cooling and freezing equipment will be provided. Developed in cooperation with a consortium of Italian companies\u00a0(Faza from Rome, Imas Gruppo Mancini from Carpi), the project will also be supported by the Government of Cameroon.
