{"id":5157,"date":"2016-04-12T19:03:52","date_gmt":"2016-04-12T17:03:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2016\/04\/l-aiuto-dell-italia-a-favore-della-2\/"},"modified":"2016-04-12T19:03:52","modified_gmt":"2016-04-12T17:03:52","slug":"l-aiuto-dell-italia-a-favore-della","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.esteri.it\/en\/sala_stampa\/archivionotizie\/comunicati\/2016\/04\/l-aiuto-dell-italia-a-favore-della\/","title":{"rendered":"Italian emergency aid to Libya"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>During the past month of March, Italian Cooperation contributed\u00a0<strong>1 million euro to the World Food Programme (WFP)<\/strong> with the aim of <strong>providing food assistance <\/strong>for 1 month to 70,000 beneficiaries (14,000 households), selected among the <strong>most vulnerable <\/strong><strong>categories <\/strong>(15 percent were infants under 5 years of age, and 36 percent minors between 5 and 17 years of age) of the population of Western Libya.<\/p>\n<p> In cooperation with the Italian Ministry of Defence, the <strong>Civilian Hospital of Mitiga<\/strong>, located in the surroundings of Tripoli, will receive<strong> 3<\/strong> <strong>WHO Basic Emergency Kits<\/strong> (each of which can ensure treatment for <strong>10,000 patients for 3 months<\/strong>) and <strong>4<\/strong> <strong>Emergency Trauma Kits<\/strong> containing material and drugs to aid trauma patients (1 every 100 cases) <strong>for the treatment of\u00a0400 injured patients.<\/p>\n<p> <\/strong>The basic health kit has been designed to provide primary health care. It contains anesthetics, pain killers, anti-allergics, anti-infection medication, disinfectants and antiseptics, gastrointestinal medication, medical devices, antibiotics and antipyretic drugs. The trauma kit contains medical devices and drugs to cater to patients needing surgical procedures.<\/p>\n<p> The Italian Cooperation has also considered sending some medical kits to the <strong>Bengasi Hospital<\/strong>, by means of a donation to the Government of National Accord.
