The cooperation perspectives between Italy and Tunisia in the field of archaeology, a field that unites the two Countries through deep-rooted historical ties, will be the focus of a Workshop held in Tunis next 17 March, uniting the two Countries\u2019 top experts two years after the terrorist attack on the Bardo Museum, the date which was chosen by the organizers to symbolize the need to found a new phase in the relations between the two shores of the Mediterranean on knowledge, with the aim of reinforcing peace and international cooperation.<\/p>\n
The Workshop, now at its second edition, is entitled: \u201cArchaeology and the Protection of the Heritage of Carthage: the state of the art and the perspective of the Tunisian-Italian cooperation\u201d and will be held at the Italian Cultural Institute in Tunis. The Workshop will also present the first issue of the journal \u201cCarthage, Studies and Research\u201d by the “Scuola Archeologica Italiana di Cartagine”, the\u00a0Italian School of Archaeology of Carthage, curated by Antonio Corda from the University of Cagliari, and the first volume of the monographs with the Proceedings of last year\u2019s conference, curated by Paola Ruggeri from the University of Sassari. The Workshop will also illustrate the numerous significant Tunisian-Italian excavation campaigns currently underway and financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.<\/p>\n
