To celebrate International Women\u2019s Day, the Italian Cultural Institute in Sydney, in conjunction with the office of the Science and Technology Attach\u00e9 at the Italian Embassy in Canberra, organised the conference entitled \u201cItalian Women in Science\u201d with the aim of making a reflection on gender equality in traditionally male-dominated sectors and highlighting the presence of Italian female scientists in Australian universities.<\/p>\n<p>The conference, scheduled at 6 p.m. on 9 March at the Italian Cultural Institute (IIC), will present research studies by Italian academics working in Australian universities and research centres. The conference will be opened by Donatella Cannova, the director of the IIC in Sydney and Oscar Moze, the Science Attach\u00e9 at the Italian Embassy in Canberra, who will make an overview of Italian women in science, from antiquity to date.
