The book represents the author\u2019s journey to seek his origins and background: it tells the story of Aldo\u2019s journey with his uncle Giacomo, who return to Albania after 44 years. Aldo was still a child when Enver Hoxha\u2019s regime locked his father up in the terrible prison of Burrel, where he died without being given the possibility of taking leave from his son and wife. Aldo\u2019s wish to bring his father\u2019s remains back to Albania clashes with the Terrusi family\u2019s sorrowful past in their homeland and with a Country that still now bears the disruptive signs of a dictatorship.
