Year after year the Festival \u2013 one of the most awaited events in Spain \u2013 continues to enrich its agenda with a view to increasingly become a point of reference for contemporary cinema-lovers. The different film contest sections (feature films, documentaries and shorts) will screen films that were presented at last year\u2019s international film festivals, including Cannes, Toronto, Venice and Rome. The event is organised by the Italian Cultural Institute under the patronage of the Italian Embassy and with the sponsorship of Enel Endesa, the support of the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism and with the cooperation of Illy Caff\u00e8.\u00a0Some of the film titles selected are: \u201cLa pazza gioia\u201d (\u201cLike Crazy\u201d) by Paolo Virz\u00ec, \u201cFiore\u201d by Claudio Giovannesi, \u201cUn bacio\u201d (\u201cOne Kiss\u201d) by Ivan Cotroneo, \u201cTommaso\u201d by Kim Rossi Stuart, \u201cVeloce come il vento\u201d (\u201cItalian Race\u201d) by Matteo Rovere, \u201cLoro chi?\u201d\u00a0(\u201cThem Whom?) by Fabio Bonifacci and Francesco Miccich\u00e8, \u201cQuesti giorni\u201d by Giuseppe Piccioni, \u201cIn guerra per amore\u201d by Pif and \u201cLo chiamavano Jeeg Robot\u201d (\u201cThey Call Me Jeeg Robot\u201d) by Gabriele Mainetti (winner of the David di Donatello 2016 Prize for best new director). Some of the documentaries screened will be: \u201cLiberami\u201d by Federica Di Giacomo (nominated Best Film in the \u201cOrizzonti\u201d section of the Biennale of Venice), \u201cAcqua e zucchero. Carlo Di Palma: i colori della vita\u201d (\u201cWater and Sugar: Carlo Di Palma, the Colours of Life\u201d) by Fariborz Kamkari (presented at the Film Festivals of Toronto and Venice). This year\u2019s special lifetime achievement award was assigned to Italian composer Nicola Piovani. The films, screened in the original version with subtitles in Spanish, will be shown at Madrid\u2019s Cines Renoir Princesa (c\/ Princesa 3) while parallel events associated with the Festival will be hosted at the Italian Cultural Institute.
