Doppie impressioni: tra Fotografia e Cinematografia&#8221; (&#8220;Writing with Light: Double Impressions, between Photography and Cinematography\u201d) will open in\u00a0Buenos Aires\u00a0on 20 November with a view to\u00a0telling a story in motion through the photographic lens. \u00a0Storaro\u2019s photographic work, although completely incorporated into his film-making, is conceived and presented in this exhibition like a story told through self-standing images. The exhibition, which\u00a0will run till\u00a0 11 December,\u00a0is organized into\u00a0three sections\u00a0showcasing the photographer\u2019s thirty-year-long research on the theme of light and colours. The event has been organised by SIA (Italy-Argentina Society), the Ministry of Culture, the Federal System of Public Media and Contents (Sistema Federal de Medios y Contenidos Publicos), in partnership with the Italian Embassy in Argentina and the Italian Cultural Institute in Buenos Aires. Storaro, one of Italy&#8217;s most\u00a0 preeminent Italian photography directors,\u00a0has been awarded three Oscars, namely for &#8220;Apocalypse Now&#8221;, &#8220;Reds&#8221;and &#8220;The Last Emperor&#8221;. He started studying photography at the &#8220;Duca d&#8217;Aosta&#8221; Technical Institute of Rome when \u00a0he was 11-years-old, and later enrolled in the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia. \u00a0He was director of photography for all the films directed by Bernardo Bertolucci from 1970 (&#8220;The Conformist&#8221;) to 1993 (&#8220;Little Buddha&#8221;). In 2005 he was president of the jury of the Locarno International Film Festival, where he was assigned the Excellence Awards. Honorary president of the Accademia della Luce, Storaro authored\u00a0a three-volume encyclopaedia &#8220;Scrivere con la luce&#8221; (&#8220;Writing with Light&#8221;), which is the name of the exhibition, \u00a0and \u201cThe Sign of a Destiny\u201d (&#8220;Il Segno di un Destino&#8221;), a journey between cinema and painting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A photo-film exhibition on Vittorio Storaro, titled &#8220;Scrivere con la Luce.
