The Month of Italian Culture kicks off in Bosnia-Herzegovina with the MIK 2016 festival, now at its 4th edition. It has a rich programme of events featuring art, cinema, cuisine, literature, musical performances and the presence of prestigious Italian guests. The month-long kermesse, organized by the Italian Embassy in Bosnia-Herzegovina, started with a photography exhibition titled “Progetti per lo sviluppo.\u00a0La Cooperazione Italiana in Bosnia per la ricostruzione dopo le alluvioni” (“Development Projects.\u00a0Italian cooperation in Bosnia for reconstruction after the flooding”), hosted at the National Museum of Bosnia-Herzegovina. It displays the results of a reconstruction project funded by the Italian Development Cooperation Agency (AICS) for a total value of 1.2 million euro and covers seven municipalities in the Balkan country stricken by the 2014 floods.<\/p>\n
The programme also includes a concert by the “Perfect Trio” jazz ensemble on Nov. 10, events associated with the 16th<\/sup>\u00a0Week of the Italian Language in the World, and the project “A train for Europe”, which will bring 300 Italian students to Bosnia, where they will meet with local students to discuss the themes of a united Europe. A wine tasting event will be organized in conjunction with the first “Week of Italian Cuisine in the World” promoted by the\u00a0Foreign Ministry<\/strong>. Several top level musical events are scheduled throughout November, such as a concert for solo violin by Domenico Nordio, one of the most acclaimed musicians in the world. Also, a concert by Orchestra Mitteleuropa from the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, will hold a second performance at the national Theatre in Sarajevo on November 26.
