On 4 November GMB, the Bratislava City Gallery, will open the exhibition \u201cModern Italian Photography (1930 \u2013 1970)\u201d. The images displayed trace the history of photography in Italy through its most important representatives of the period: Giuseppe Cavalli, Mario Giacomelli, Mimmo Jodice and Ugo Mulas. The exhibition, organised in conjunction with the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava, will run until 15 November. The curator of the exhibition is collector Massimo Prelz Oltramonti and Emma Lewis is co-curator. A special section of this year\u2019s edition of the Month of Photography will be dedicated to the release of the publication \u201cThe History of European Photography of the 20<sup>th<\/sup> Century: 1970 \u2013 2000\u201d (the two preceding volumes focused on the periods 1900 \u2013 1938 and 1939 \u2013 1969). The book, a cooperative effort by several photography experts from 36 different European countries, is published in English and has become the most significant editorial and research endeavour of the Festival organisers.
