On 21 and 22 September 2016, Podgorica will host a mission of Italian businesses in the sector of transport infrastructure (roads, railroads, airports and ports), hospitals and energy, at the presence of Montenegro\u2019s top-ranking officials.<\/p>\n
Organised by ANCE, the Italian Association of private construction contractors, and by the Italian Embassy in Montenegro with the support of ICE Agenzia, in conjunction with the Foreign Ministry\u2019s Directorate General for Cultural and Economic Promotion and Innovation, the mission will comprise approximately 45 companies that are representative of the supply chain of Italian construction companies, which have a very high standing on global markets.<\/p>\n
It represents a very important occasion for all the companies operating in this sector that intend to grasp the many opportunities offered by Montenegro\u2019s market. Indeed the Country looks with great interest to Italy and to the initiatives launched within the framework of the Western Balkans Process, which it will chair in 2017. \u00a0<\/p>\n
In particular, the last summit held in Paris last 4 July confirmed the European Union\u2019s intention to work at the so-called Connectivity Agenda which envisages connecting the EU\u2019s transport and energy systems to those of the Western Balkan countries through the allocation of sizable funds from the IPA, the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF) and through co-funding with the IFI and private players. \u00a0<\/p>\n
During the two-day mission, the ANCE delegation led by Gerardo Biancofiore, SME International President of ANCE, will meet with Montenegro\u2019s authorities to discuss the different aspects of these opportunities on the basis of presentations by the people in charge of international orders and tenders. The most interesting projects include: \u00a0rebuilding the Tivat Airport, developing the Podgorica Airport and the port of Bar; the Bar-Boljare motorway, the Adriatic-Ionian Corridor, the Montenegro section of the Trans-Balkan electricity corridor, the Montenegro section of the Italy-Montenegro-Serbia-Bosnia Herzegovina electricity interconnection, the hydropower plants on the Komarnica and Moraca Rivers, the upgrading of hospitals and housing construction for the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
