The 2016 theme is: &#8220;The Sustainable Development Goals: a Universal Push to Transform our World&#8221;. Great attention will be paid to the issue of migrations which has taken centrestage\u00a0during the\u00a0&#8220;Addressing vulnerabilities of refugees and migrants&#8221; summit, organised by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, \u00a0accompanied by Foreign Affairs Minister Gentiloni and Interior Minister Angelino Alfano leads the\u00a0Italian delegation.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Several events regarding key international issues\u00a0will take place during the UNGA 71st session, such as\u00a0the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (GCTF), the Ministerial Meeting on Libya ( co-chaired by Minister Gentiloni and US Secretary of State Kerry) and regional initiatives concerning Palestine, Somalia, Iraq, Syria, South Sudan and Tunisia.<\/p>\n<p>During the UNGA\u00a0week Italy will organize &#8220;side-events&#8221; targeting the universal\u00a0moratorium on the death penalty, regional solutions to global problems\u00a0generated by migrant and refugee flows, the fight against the destruction and illegal trafficking of countries&#8217; archeological and cultural assets, activites conducted by the Uniting for Consensus Group on the\u00a0 reform of the U.N.
