The La Scala orchestra, again conducted by Maestro Chung, performed Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s \u2018Simon Boccanegra&#8217; in concert form. The cast included Simone Piazzolla (as Boccanegra), Carmen Giannattasio (as Amelia), Fabio Sartori (as Gabriele Adorno), in the leading roles and Dmitry Belosselskiy, Ernesto Panariello, Julian Kim and Luigi Albani in the supporting roles.\u00a0<br \/>The audience of approximately 1,700 spectators showed their appreciation for the top-quality performance, enhanced by the hall\u2019s perfect acoustics, with a prolonged standing ovation. The newly inaugurated hall, which is built according to the Chinese Boxes technique to perfectly sound-proof it from all external noise, hits a perfect balance between reverberation time, clarity and intensity of sound and the early lateral energy fraction. This balance enables the audience to hear the sounds clear and loud from anywhere they may be sitting.
