Thanks to the cooperation between Italian and Russian cultural institutions, with the support of the Italian Embassy, three major cultural events are scheduled to open in Moscow in September. The first, opening on Sept. 2 at the Pushkin Museum, is the exhibition \u201cRaphael and the Poetry of a Face\u201d, displaying an extraordinary selection of the works of the Urbino-born master from the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Pitti\u2019s Palatine Gallery, the National Gallery of the Marche and Bologna\u2019s National Painting Gallery. The second event instead envisages the tour by the La Scala Theatre Orchestra at Moscow\u2019s Bolshoi Theatre from Sept. 10 to 16, as part of the initiatives of the \u201cCherry Orchard Festival\u201d. The tour is expected to represent a milestone in the relations between the two theatres, offering a programme designed around the music of Giuseppe Verdi, with the Messa da Requiem and a symphonic concert performance of \u201cSimon Boccanegra\u201d. Lastly on Sept. 20, the Pushkin Museum will open the exhibition \u201cPiranesi. Masterpieces from Russian and Foreign Collections\u201d, a broad retrospective on the famous Italian landscapist.
