This is the first time works from the Italian museum&#8217;s collection have been exhibited\u00a0in Latin America. The MAXXI opened in 2010 and was designed by architect Zaha Hadid (1950 &#8211; 2016). The exhibition, curated by Anna Mattirolo, presents works that illustrate the\u00a0breadth and diversity of the Italian collection, centred on contemporary languages, ranging from Arte Povera to the use of technology. It includes photographs, drawings, paintings, prints, installations and videos, as well as plastic and architectural projects. Nineteen artists will be on display until September 11, 2016: Mario Air\u00f2, Carlo Aymonino, Matthew Barney, Maurizio Cattelan, Gino De Dominicis, Massimiliano e Gianluca De Serio, Gilbert &#038; George, Danilo Guerri, Ilya Kabakov, William Kentridge, Armin Linke, Luigi Ontani, Yan Pei-Ming, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Aldo Rossi, Grazia Toderi and Francesco Vezzoli. The exhibition is built\u00a0almost like\u00a0a\u00a0stage and divided into four rooms, so visitors can enjoy the monumental installation of the artists Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, charcoals by the provocative Gilbert &#038; George, the technical perfection of architectural restoration projects by Danilo Guerri, the photographs of Maurizio Cattelan, Armin Linke and Grazia Toderi, the prelude to Arte Povera of Michelangelo Pistoletto, the &#8220;invisible&#8221; sculpture of Gino De Dominicis, the paintings of Yan Pei-Ming and the emblematic clock of Luigi Ontani.
