The campaign is an integrating part of Soleterre\u2019s \u201cSupporting human rights advocates in Uganda\u201d (\u201cAl fianco dei difensori dei diritti umani in Uganda\u201d), a project funded by Italian Development Cooperation that has been operating in Uganda for over a year. The major drivers of the #Iwant2Bfree project are Ugandan gays, lesbians and transsexuals who conveyed their message by posing for photographic portraits, sometimes with their faces covered in order to protect their identity. The campaign reveals the wish to live their lives free from discriminations: \u201c#Iwant2Bfree not to hide myself\u201d, \u201c#Iwant2Bfree to be accepted by my family\u201d or \u201c#Iwant2Bfree enjoy my private life\u201d are some of the messages mostly transmitted through social networks.
