In the wake of last century\u2019s large emigration flows, Italy has a wide-reaching consular network that shoulders a particularly challenging task in favour of all the Italians living abroad. \u00a0 What is it like to run a Consulate and what are the problems, large and small, that must be solved on a day-to-day basis? How is the role of Consulates changing in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> century? What are the main characteristics and needs of Italian communities in Europe?
