His books represent global phenomena, like \u201cThe Abbey of One Hundred Sins\u201d (\u201cL\u2019Abbazia dei cento peccati\u201d), a historic novel which will presented in the Portuguese translation (published by the Clube do Autor publisher) at 7 p.m. at the Italian Institute of Culture in Lisbon by Portuguese journalist and writer Gon\u00e7alo Cadilhe, in the presence of the author. Marcello Simoni, a graduate in classical letters and former archaeologist and librarian, launched his writing career in 2011 with \u201cIl mercante di libri maledetti\u201d (\u201cThe Merchant of Damned Books\u201d), a novel set in the Middle Ages which led the bestseller list for more than a year and won the 60th edition of the Premio Bancarella. The book\u2019s translation rights have been purchased in 18 Countries. With Newton Compton he published \u201cLa biblioteca perduta dell\u2019alchimista\u201d (\u201cThe Alchmist\u2019s Lost Library\u201d), \u201cIl labirinto ai confini del mondo\u201d (\u201cThe labyrinth at the Edge of the World\u201d), the second and third chapter of the trilogy on the famous merchant; and \u201cL\u2019isola dei monaci senza nome\u201d (\u201cThe Island of the Nameless Monks\u201d), which won him the Premio Lizza d\u2019Oro 2013.
