History awaits us in Berlin. “Italy \u00a0and the Great War Diplomacy. Origin, developments and consequences” opened on 24 February at the Italian Institute of Culture in Berlin. The exhibition, which run until 24 March, takes us on a journey through documents and images, including telegrams, confidential letters, posters and pamphlets. Visitors can deepen their understanding of the critical decision-taking that spurred Italy to embrace the Triple Entente and pass from neutrality to war, that influenced the difficult negotiations leading to the peace conference, and that brought the partial\u00a0implementation of national objectives. The historical documentary exhibition,\u00a0hosted by the Italian Institute for Culture in Berlin,\u00a0was organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and by the Archives of the Italian Presidency of the\u00a0Republic.<\/p>\n
“Italy and the Great War Diplomacy – Origin, developments, consequences”<\/strong><\/p>\n This exhibition is the result of research conducted by the Italian Foreign\u00a0 Affairs Ministry with professor Italo Garzia,\u00a0 scientific consultant for the project. The documents on display come from the Historic Archive of the office of the President of the Italian Republic and include exhibits of extraordinary historical value such as the\u00a0Triple Alliance Treaty, the Treaty of London, the declaration of war on Germany and the peace treaties of Versailles and Saint-Germain.\u00a0Garzia, the curator of the exhibition and Professor in the History of International Relations at the University of Bari, will also be in Berlin where he is to hold the opening address at the IIC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"History awaits us in Berlin. “Italy \u00a0and the Great War Diplomacy.
