The 2016 agenda will be rich in appointments with Italy, all of which are not to be missed as they will range from music to cinema, from figurative arts to archaeology, from trade to investment opportunities,\u201d said Luigi Mattiolo, the Italian Ambassador to Turkey.\u00a0\u00a0\u201cItalian Horizons\u201d started 2016 off with a rich plate of \u201chors d\u2019oeuvres\u201d thanks to an eventful January agenda: just to mention a few examples, the event kicked off on Jan. 19 with a concert by an eclectic performance by Maestro Stefano Bollani, who thrilled the more than 800 spectators at the auditorium of Ankara\u2019s Metu University. The programme continued with the Italian gastronomy week in Ankara, organised by the Italian Embassy in partnership with the Barilla Group and the Hilton Hotel, in which the traditional flavours of Italian cuisine were brought to the Turkish capital thanks to the creations of Chef Fabio Foltran, who was warmly acclaimed by Turkish TV networks and media. Lastly, thanks to the support of a renowned shopping centre and of Turkish film distributor Mars Production, the Italian Embassy managed to organise, on a very short notice, a special screening of the original version of \u201cYouth\u201d, director Paolo Sorrentino\u2019s latest award-winning film which was greatly appreciated by local audiences and the international community.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cItalian Horizons\u201d, a programme organised by the Italian institutions operating in Turkey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Taking a look at the upcoming events, on Feb. 26 the Politics and Society section will feature an event entitled \u201cThe Estates-General of the Italian presence in Izmir: from the experience of the historic Levantine community to the expectations and prospects of recent immigrants\u201d, organised in partnership with the Comites in Izmir; for the Economy section, the new Fiat Aegea model will be presented in Ankara in March, in collaboration with Fiat Tofas. The rich music programme includes the 23<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the Izmir European Jazz Festival in March, an event first proposed by the Italian Consulate and organised in partnership with the Iksev Foundation and which awards grants to the best instrumentalists. In the Art section, from April 28 to May 8 Italy will participate in Ankara\u2019s 27<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0International Film Festival. In the Culture section, on March 11-12 there will be the 7<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0edition of the Conference \u201cItaly\u2019s contribution to excavations, research and studies in the archaeological missions in Turkey\u201d, which will be held at the Theatre of Casa d\u2019Italia in Istanbul.
