An international workshop on the digital documentation and\u00a0musealization\u00a0of the historic buildings of the Old City is underway in the city of Acri. The aim is to familiarize visitors and residents with the architectural sites of the “Citta’ Vecchia”, documented\u00a0through architectural drawings and three-dimensional models. A\u00a0feasibility study will also be carried out to turn the old town into an open air museum and showcase the beautiful remains of the districts built at the times of crusades by the Maritime Republics of Venice, Genoa and Pisa.<\/p>\n
The initiative will be hosted in the historical building of the International Conservation Center “Citta ‘di Roma” up until Thursday. It was organized by the Shenkar College in Tel Aviv, the Politecnico di Milano and the Mantova UNESCO Chair, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of Haifa and with the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Israel.<\/p>\n
The door into Mare Nostrum: survey and musealization<\/strong><\/p>\n The workshop “The door into the Mare Nostrum: survey and musealization” involved Israeli students from the Shenkar College in Tel Aviv with professor Rebeka Vital and students from the Polytechnic of Milan with professors David Palterer and Andrea Adami. Among the Italian students there were also two foreign ones coming from China and Mexico.<\/p>\n The workshop will end on Thursday when an exhibition held in Acri with the works created by the students that will be\u00a0opened by\u00a0Federico Bucci, Vice Rector of the Politecnico di Milano and director of the Mantova UNESCO Chair.
