The pairing of sport and diplomacy immediately brings to mind the Olympics and other events in recent history by which sport has provided an especially effective tool for facilitating the process of relieving tensions between governments. Sports practices today are a factor in national identity and an effective promotional instrument for every country in the world and, therefore, a key means at the disposal of diplomacy.<\/p>\n
This week\u2019s guest, Luigi Vignali, in charge of this theme at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will take a deeper look at the more topical and often lesser known aspects of diplomacy\u2019s activities with regard to sports.<\/p>\n
